Mixing Things Up With Modern Gray
The dark clouds are clearing and the sun is peeking through, May is finally here! It is a beautiful time of year here in Utah. The spring flowers are blossoming, the birds are chirping and we’re celebrating one of our favorite friends - Kaycie!
PEOPLE WE LOVE
Kaycie from @greybirchdesigns celebrates a birthday in May so we figure it’s the perfect time to celebrate her! Years ago, after moving her family from California to Utah, Kaycie decided to start an Instagram page to document her new-home-build and share it with family and friends that were now so far away. Grey Birch Designs was born but it quickly turned into something more than just family was interested in seeing. Her hobby soon became her business! Many people (us included!) now follow along as she continues to transform her builder-grade home into a beautiful modern farmhouse on a budget. With a background in interior design and her ever evolving DIY skills, she knocks it out of the park every time so trust us when we say - her page is one you are going to want to follow.
Kaycie says she has “a passion for anything and everything home décor and DIY”, and that one of her favorite things to do is share it with her followers through her blog and social media channels. However, when it comes to sharing specific items, she will not share just anything. She only shares things she has in her own home, things she uses personally, and things she absolutely loves. Here at Beddy’s, we are honored to have made the cut.
TIPS WE LOVE
Kaycie got her first Beddy's about five years ago after attending one of our local warehouse sales. Later in 2018, one of the first posts she ever shared to her Instagram feed was her twins’ bedroom featuring… you guessed it - Beddy’s! 😉 All of her kid’s rooms now include them and as a busy mom of five, she says they are a MUST HAVE item!
For her youngest son, Kaycie used the beautiful blank canvas of our Love at First White Beddy's and then contrasted it with a dark accent wall and our Ivy League Accessory Bundle.
For her twin boys’ room, she used our Jet Beddy’s and coordinated it perfectly with our Spotted Blanket, the Leo pillow cover and the Longboard Lumbar.
In her younger daughter’s room, she chose the feminine details of our ruffled and ruched Chic White Beddy’s, accented it in navy with our Scattered Drops and Indigo-Go pillow covers as well as subtle touches of pink.
For her oldest daughter, she let the bold floral wallpaper stand out against our neutral in color but heavy in texture- Naturally Boho Beddy's.
We just can’t get enough of Kaycie and she can’t get enough of Beddy’s. She says she loves to share videos of her kids making their own beds for her followers to see for themselves just how quick and easy it really is. Even her youngest (7) makes his bed all on his own every day!
What about washing? She says that is the other great part about Beddy’s, it’s so simple! Pull it off in one piece, wash it all together or separate it (depending on the capacity of your washing machine), wash it in cold water on normal setting, remove promptly from the washer and throw it in the dryer on low heat. It’s that easy! Here at Beddy’s we wouldn’t suggest washing more than once a week, but have found weekly washings to be perfectly fine. Kaycie says she is commonly asked how Beddy’s hold up, her answer - “Beddy’s clean up beautifully and hold up fantastic! We have even handed Beddy’s sets down to our younger kids when the older ones have gotten a bigger mattress. I don’t know many bedding sets that can hold up to that!”

When asked which of our current Beddy’s styles are her favorite, she said she can’t choose. That’s like asking her to pick her favorite child. “All sets are so fun to accessorize and since most of them serve as a great neutral base, you can get a ton of different looks out of them!” To prove just how right she is, check out how she took the same Beddy’s style, and made it work for all seasons by adding just a few simple accents.
